Myprosource allows customers to connect to contractors fast and easily so customers can get instant prices and local contractors can get matched with highly targeted customers, delivering instant results. Customers write reviews and rate contractors for service they received. Contractors who consistently provide quality service, quick delivery, and customer satisfaction will rank higher in our search results. Therefore, they will gain unlimited exposure to paying customers. Contractor profiles contain all the information necessary for customers to make informed decisions, including detailed quotes, availability, and contact information. Contractors just need to set up their profile once and never have to worry again. In effect, Myprosource is the marketing, sales, and business tool to help contractors grow their business.
How does Myprosource work?
Customers are looking for a hassle-free way to choose the right contractor for their remodeling and renovation needs. By creating a contractor profile, you can make yourself visible to millions of homeowners in your area. While it’s not required to fill out your entire profile during registration, the more detail you provide the greater response you are likely to receive. There is certain essential information that you should immediately provide in your registration, including company information, a profile in portfolio, the area you cover, your availability, the service category you provide, detail prices, and contact information for each service. Below is a step-by-step guide that will navigate you through the entire registration process:
- Click the Register with Myprosource button on the home page
- Select the Register as Professional option
- On the Register with Myprosource page, enter your contact information
- Read and agree with the Terms and Conditions and click Accept
- On the Provide Basic Information page, select a category that relates to the service you offer and select any manufacturer makes you use and then click Next (Note that the categories you specify here will determine how you are made visible to customers.)
- Enter your zip code and specify a radius you are willing to travel and then click Set Radius
- On the About Us page, enter general information about your company, such as your mission statement or company philosophy (You have the option to upload photos and videos.)
- Provide insurance and license information about your company
- Create a new project if applicable
- On the Manage Detail Price page, select a category and services for that category
- Provide detail prices for the services you offer (Myprosource allows you to specify detail prices for each service you offer to get as close to the final cost as possible. By providing customers with a base price and then factoring costs for any additional features, you leave the customer fully aware of the scope of the service.)
- Specify payment terms, such as whether there is a deposit or payment occurs upon project completed
- Upload your service contract. (This is the service contract that will bind you and customer to a valid contract.) Click next.
- On the My Alerts page, you can customize a message that you will receive via email or text message every time a customer makes an offer. Then click Next.
- Specify your availability date.
- Specify a payment method (e.g. PayPal) When a customer is interested in your service, they will click the “Award Service” button that appears on your profile. You have the option to accept or reject the service offer. If you accept the offer, the customer will be notified by email and it will be updated on their Myprosource account. Both parties become bound to the legal contract and you can then contact the customer with details of the specific timeline of the service. Next, you will send the customer an invoice according to the milestones provided in the contract. You can use the communication board on your profile page to communicate with the customer further. Once you complete a milestone, the customer will pay you through Myprosource. Customers can then rate the service they received and write a contractor review. Only contractors hired through Myprosource can be rated. This ensures our rating system remains credibility and valuable to the Myprosource community.
Why setting up a detail price for services you offer is important?
When customer searches for a service, you will not be seen, unless you include detail prices.
Do I need to register?
Registration is free, so why not? Plus, contractors must register in order to set up profiles and become visible to millions of homeowners who are looking to find an electrician, plumber, or any other contractor for home renovation or repair. Registration allows customers to quickly learn more about your company and filters out unwanted traffic to your profile page. Customers want certain pricing information available at their convenience. So the more detail you provide the better the response. Therefore, by providing your contact information, the services you offer, the distance you are willing to travel, and licensing information now, you’ll save yourself from the headaches of customers asking these types of questions later. You’ll also get high quality traffic to your profile page.
Is registration free?
Yes, absolutely.
Do I have to complete registration before I can make my profile public and available to customers?
No, you don’t have to complete registration in order to set up a profile. When you navigate through the registration process, you have the option to skip certain steps and return to them later. However, if you want to become publicly available in the search results page, you must provide a price for each of the services you offer.
Can a price fluctuate even after a contract is agreed upon?
Yes. Prices are subject to change depending on circumstances not known at the time of the contract agreement. It is strongly recommended for contractors to make any additional charges clearly defined in the contract so that the customer is not struck by surprise or confusion later. This is a critical part of building your credibility in order to win more customers in the future and get a higher rating.
How does a customer pay you?
Myprosource wants to make payment transfers as transparent and comfortable as possible for all involved. There are no hidden fees or charges for registering with Myprosource, communicating with customers, and finalizing a service contract. In order to receive payment, you must first setup a PayPal account and have it directly transfer to your banking account. There is no charge for setting up direct deposit. When you and a customer agree to a service contract, simply click the “send invoice” button on your profile page and specify any shipping costs. The customer will receive the invoice and make a payment through Myprosource. Myprosource receives the payment and charges the Myprosource service fee, which is a nominal fee that will vary depending on the type of service and location. The remaining amount will be transferred directly into your PayPal account. Note that if either party decides to sidestep Myprosource’s payment process or use a third-party vendor for payment, both parties can risk their account being suspended.
Are there any membership fees?
Absolutely, not. There are no membership fees.
Can I update my profile at anytime?
Yes, you can update your contractor profile at anytime. In fact, you should keep your profile information current and complete. Customers are looking for honest and reputable contractors. If your information is accurate and answers many of the questions that customers typically have, then you will improve your credibility with them and earn more high quality leads. That’s a major reason why Myprosource encourages you to identify detail prices for all the services you off during registration.
How do customers and contractors communicate?
Myprosource is web-based and is, therefore, available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Myprosource provides a communication board where customers can interact with contractors to receive more information on their home remodeling needs. However, a customer does not need to use the discussion board to hire a contractor. If a customer is satisfied with what they read from a contractor profile, then they can click the “Award Service” button on the contractor’s profile and await a reply.
When does a contract become valid?
When a customer awards service to a contractor, the contractor must approve the request. If the contractor rejects the request or doesn’t respond to it, then the request will be automatically deleted in a few days. Without the contractor’s approval, no contract will be valid. If the contractor accepts the offer, the customer will be notified by email and it will be updated on their Myprosource account. Both parties become bound to the legal contract and the contractor can then contact the customer with details of the specific timeline of the service.
What is a wiki?
The Myprosource wiki is an online resource where people can contribute information on home improvement and renovation. It’s a knowledge base that allows customers and contractors to educate themselves and make intelligent decisions when choosing the right contractors for their jobs. The wiki consists of translations of technical terms and articles. It is administered by Myprosource and all Myprosource members can create articles and/or edit them.
What is a forum?
The Myprosource forum is an online community for customers and contractors to share information and ideas related to home improvement, including remodeling, cabinet installation, plumbing, painting, and budgeting. If you had a recent good or bad experience in a home improvement project, start a thread in the forum and share your experiences with the community so you can help others catch deals or prevent them from making costly mistakes. • Provide any additional information necessary for a detailed price, such as the quantity and size of items to be installed or repaired (Note that a detailed price section will appear based on the service you choose for your category.)
• Click Go and you will receive a list of local contractors in your area sorted by price and rating.
• Select a specific contractor to open their contractor profile and get detailed information, such as their price for individual services, ratings and customer reviews, availability, specialties, and more
With all the information at your finger tips, you can use informed judgment to select the right contractor for your home improvement service needs. By registering with Myprosource, an “Award Service” button will appear on the contractor’s profile and you can click it to award a specific contractor for your service. When you choose to award a service to a contractor, this means you have read and understood their price and the standard contract provided on their profile. The contractor can accept or reject your service offer. If the contractor accepts your offer, you will be notified by email and it will be updated on your account. Both parties become bound to the legal contract and the contractor will thereafter contact you with details of the specific timeline of the service. The contractor will then send you an invoice according to the milestones provided in the contract. If you have any additional questions or concerns, you can communicate with the contractor directly using the communication board available on the contractor’s profile page. Once the contractor completes a milestone, customers will pay the contractor through Myprosource. Customers can then rate the service they received and write a contractor review. Only contractors hired through Myprosource can be rated. This ensures our rating system remains credibility and valuable to the Myprosource community.
Do I need to register?
Customers do not have to register to view contractor profiles, read customer reviews, and compare prices. However, in order to award a contractor for your service, contact a contractor directly, rate a contractor, or to use and contribute to the Myprosource wiki, blog, and forums, registration is required. Once a customer registers, they will have access to all of these privileges.
Is registration free?

Are there any membership fees?
Absolutely, not. Membership fees are not part of the Myprosource philosophy.

How does a contractor rating and review work?
After the customer pays a contractor through Myprosource for services rendered, a customer can write a positive or negative review detailing their experience with the contractor. Ratings are crucial to contractor exposure. If a contractor receives a high rating, he or she will appear higher in the search results when other customers look for local contractors in their area.
Should I make my purchase decisions based on price only?
Price should not be the only factor when choosing a contractor. Consider the following when deciding the right contractor for your job: customer rating, performance history, and licensing information.
